New Dare - 55

Hi everyone. Trina here.

Its that time again. Time for a new dare. And this fortnight we're daring you to document your life. Either "a day in the life of", or a 'month in the life of' or 'a year in the life of'....get it?

I've often seen people do pages like this and then talk about how they go back a year or more later and realise how much their lives have changed. It made me want to do one too. That was over a year ago.

I figured that if I'm like this, you might be too. Wanting to do a page, but just not quite getting around to it.

So our dare to you this fortnight is to document your life. Do a page about what you are currently doing, what you've done in the last week or month, or even year. Take the time to think about all those things you do and then write them down. Take some pics, or dig them out of your stash and create.

As usual we have a great sponsor...thanks to.....FISKARS.

Up for grabs is a Fiskars pack including a bunch of papers, some embellishments, a "Leave it to weaver" punch, a Fiskars apron and some bits and pieces I can find for you.

As advised in the last couple of weeks, we'd now love you to upload your dare entries to our Flickr group - here is the link.

Alternatively, leave a comment below with a link to your LO.

To give you an idea of what we have in mind here are some LO's to whet your appetite.

Trina: I took photos all day yesterday and then created a LO from them. I still might have more to add, but for now I'm calling it done. Our Guest Designer this week is Lara Moss. Here is her LO. I love how she has made it about scrapbooking. Shows that it can be about anything specific or more general. Here is Sharons LO. Sharon has decided to do a whole year, month by month. Looks fantastic!
And Vicky's LO. Vicky has done a month with lots of great pics and bright colours.
Meek.....Hey look at me I did digi!! lol. I simply looked back on my old blog posts and found a day I had documented well with photos...this is typical us on a rainy day.

Rach's LO. I had a bunch of index photos I had printed out awhile go for a project I had in mind but it never happened + once I knew what Trina's dare was I knew I had to use my pics up. I went for a year over view.

Winner - Dare 54

Thanks for all your brilliant entries! I've looked through Flickr & the linked blogs on the Dare site.
The drawn winner of 1 years subscription to Up2Scrap magazine is.........
Lynne with Busy Beaver Me. I really love the different scales of photos & the huge sunglasses even add scale!
And the really hard part of choosing a Guest Designer... after much deliberating & visiting the layouts a few times... is
Danice with Fiji Fun. Love the huge photo & tiny journaling. The whole layout just rocks.
Lynne, can you please email your full name & postal address so we can forward to Up2Scrap and Danice if you'd like to be our next guest designer, please also email Lianne so she can fill you in on the details: RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz
Congratulations!

Dare 54

Hi everyone! Donna here.

I guess I've always been fascinated with scale. In landscaping you place small plants to counter-balance tall/big plants and in interiors we often do the same... a small wall often looks better with a large piece of art, whereas a big wall space may look better with a series of smaller artworks and a large piece of furniture underneath.

SO... we've decided to dare you to use extremes of scale in a layout. Big versus small, in clothing terms XL vs XS, or even XXL vs XXS.
You may decide to use large & small photos, or small photos and large alphas. It's up to you! Mix it up and have FUN!

There's an awesome prize again for this dare. Up2Scrap have very generously donated a year's subscription to their magazine! That's 4 issues of great inspiration! (and just as a side note - the search for the new Elite Team is on but closes 20th September... so if you're thinking of entering you'll need to get on to it this weekend!).

Now as we advised last week, we'd now love you to upload your dare entries to our Flickr group - here's the link
Or you can leave a comment here with your details.
If in doubt, scroll down to the Flickr details in Dare 53 post.
We love seeing the different interpretations of these dares and can't wait to see what you do.

Here's my layout. I was inspired by this photo of my daughter, taken by photographer Fiona Pierson. The size of the photo, or rather the face close up has prevented me knowing how to scrap it before, but using large and small brackets, varied size numbers & embellishments just seemed to work.
And here's our guest designer Sue Bull's layout. I love the contrast of large & small photos & fonts she's used.
And here's Sharon's - love that huge punctuation against tiny alphas.
Vicky's - little photos with lots of large, varied fonts for journaling!
Lesley's - definately XXL vs XXS going on here!

Trinas's - Big photo. Big title/small title. Large clock/small clock. Large flowers/smaller flowers.

Lianne - very small photos with a large photo
