Dare 16 - Black and White with a "Colour Pop"

Monique will be posting the dare 15 winner tomorrow but in the meantime are you ready to get cracking with another dare? Here we go then...

Ever noticed that when you use black or white or both in your background papers/photo mats it makes the colours in your layout just jump right out and pop off the page? It is a look that is becoming increasingly popular, and we have chosen that technique as this fortnight's dare. There is a twist though...you can only use one other colour with black and white, hence the name of the dare "Black and white with a colour pop." By using just one colour you will notice how it emphasises that colour in your photo, drawing the eye back to your photo to make it the important part of your layout. Your photo can be black and white with one other colour or in colour but your layout itself must only be in black and white and one other colour.

In my layout I have chosen to use pink as my 'pop' colour. Notice how it really makes the girls tops stand out in my photo and makes traditionally 'ungirly' elements look feminine and softens the layout while the black and white gives an uncluttered 'clean' look. Wait till you see what other gorgeous colours the kiwidaredevils have come up with to use as their pop colours and the wonderful effects that have been created in their layouts.
