WELCOME everybody... to No.8 wired's 50th Dare!!!

Firstly.....

...I would like to ask Lianne to come on down and take a bow, we thank you for all your work behind the scenes pulling the dares together every fortnight to bring inspiration to NZ scrappers!

Ok so a little recap.... two years ago Lianne gathered up a group of scrappers from all around the country to begin NZ's first 'Dare' challenge blog....50 fabulous dares later...and here it is still going strong...if you feel like taking a little trip down memory lane check out the archives entry for July 2006 in the sidebar for Dare #1...

The very first Kiwi Daredevils who offered up their versions of each dare to inspire us all were the very talented Lianne Gray, Nic Howard, Wendy Redshaw-Bruhns, Yolande Fenneman, Evana Willis, Marieke Broekman, Lesley Cooper, Andrea Senn, Trina McClune, Sarah-Jane Bunting, Rachel Hosking, and Faye Gregory......along the way as some retired from the Daredevil way of life others were recruited to the present list of dare girls.......who you can find over there on the side bar too lol!

Every dare the Daredevil team aim to prompt your creativity a little, get the mojo going, have some fun and maybe try something a little out of the ordinary!

and hey! we also cannot forget the support we get from YOU whether you are a dedicated regular who consistantly takes the time to complete the dares or whether you pop in now and then when a particular dare grabs your attention... thank you to all those who have played along with the dares...we love, love, love seeing what you come up with and we love lining up those generously sponsored prize draws for you to win simply by entering in your layout!!!

...and so yes we need to give another Big Hooray to all those wonderful companies who have sponsered The NZ dares....and sent a box of happy mail to many a happy darer's mailbox over the last two years!!

So what have we got up our sleeves for you this round?

Well of course we have a great new dare, a gorgeous catwalk of layouts that will blow your socks off from the Dare girls and our FOUR wonderful Guest Designers annnnnddd a fantastic prize to spur you on!!

So...

Here we go with.....

the TGIF (Thank goodness its Friday) dare #50.....

Yes!! Its Friday night!!!

Which means a brand new dare is going up AND the cherry on the top..... its chick night on telly!! Heh, heh...

What could be better on a cold winters night then to curl up on the couch in your slippers and get fierce with Tyra on America’s Next Top Model…before tuning in for a laugh and a oogle at the loveable funny Rove or maybe you are a chick to the core and prefer the love and romance of The Bachelor on the other channel (ooohhhh channel hopping can be fun just like hubby always says!! heh, heh)…just time to grab a hot cuppa and flumph up the cushions on the couch before settling into the drama and creative flair of Project Runway…and who can resist listening to Tim Gunn saying ‘Make it work people’ just one more time lol!!

Why do we girls love these shows so much...its all down to the challenges of course and seeing what everyone comes up with and how they deal with it along the way! Brilliant just like a good scrappy challenge…preparing yourself, getting all the mushy emotive stuff down in writing, the drama of choosing just the right patterns and embellies, the rush of creating to a deadline, throwing a little hissy fit now and then when something won’t come together…putting yourself out there for others to see…all good stuff.

So this week.... totally inspired by chick night telly full of fashion, design, models, drama and romance I’ve chosen this gorgeous spread from the winter edition of Fashion Quarterly NZ and would like YOU to be inspired by it in someway to create a layout with a WINTER theme to it.

Ok so off you go to tune into your favourite progam but don't forget to pop back in the ads to check out all the Fierce layouts we have lined up to inspire you for this one people...

Oh but wait....first you must see who is sponsering the 50th Dare......none other than the talented and gorgeous....

Danielle Quarmby of Qtea Kits

Danielle brings together funky and eclectic montly mini-kits, with a vintage vibe.....and especially for our 50th dare she has super generously put together a custom kit absolutely bursting with goodies...check this out....

Ok so lets bring the Guest Designers down the runway first.....

from our lovely sponsor Danielle Quarmby

Tracy Duffy.... Guest Designer chosen from dare 48

Erica Lasham....our most consistant darer since Dare One !!

and Notable NZ Scrapper Nic Howard!!

Next up strutting their stuff down the cat walk are the team of Daredevils themselves....

Lianne Gray

Donna Meuli

Lesley Cooper

Monique Darge

Sharon Topliss

Vicky Gibson

Jo Kneller

Rachel Hosking Trina McCluneOk so link up your wonderful Wintery layouts using the magazine spread as inspiration here in the comments or send via email to Lianne at RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz by 6pm Wednesday 30th July to be in the draw for the gorgeous Qtea goodies.

Make it work people!!! heh, heh...gotta love Tim Gunn!

Huge congratulations on the big 50 ladies. What a awesome effort, there is always so much inspiration from challenges posted and I always go away with some idea for my next layout. I don't always upload layouts, or for that mater get them done on time, but there is always inspiration. Thankyou very much.
