WOW can you believe it already DARE # 30

and you have been great joining in with us on the past 29. Thanks so much for your support.

This week's dare is sponsored by NZ Scrapbook and is to document something in your life to do with TV. Whether it's a show you watch now, one you watched when you were young, one that reminds you of something special in your life or an event. Anything to do with TV.

My layout is all about how Connor and I sit every week and watch Deal or No Deal, how this silly programme seems to have improved his negotiating skills - Mum, if I just eat 2 more pieces of potatoe will I have eaten enough? Is it a deal? this pretty much happens every dinner time - and how he loves to participate when we are watching. So noisy in our lounge with his arms crossed yelling at the TV. NO DEAL, NO DEAL, as if the contestants can hear him. Love those memories.

Most of the journalling is on the back of the layout as I got a bit carried away with the embellishments on the front. Used lots of Glossy Accent (like dimensional magic but glossy) on the Owl some of the stars and the crossed bones. Other than those just 1 piece of cardstock and 2 patterned paper, coloured pencils, letterstickers (little bitty making memories - still can't live without those) and the Owl is a from a digi kit. I like using those for accents because you can play with them and make them any size you want.

I can't wait to see your layouts! Please leave a link to your layout at a gallery or your blog in the comments of this post. The deadline is Wed 26 September 6pm. Our favourite for this dare will be our guest designer for Dare #32.

Special thanks to Rachel Tucker who is our guest designer for this dare and who created this amazing layout.
The Journaling on the record (and it really is an old record) reads

"Happy Days" First showed on t.v. in 1974 which is the year your dad and I were born. We grew up watching this programme and are now living the happy days with the two of you. Happy days was a comedy about the cunninghams. An average family, and showed the every day routine as fun. It was set in a time when hanging at the local diner listening to rock n roll records on the juke box was the rage. Today it is flat whites in the café and MP3 players! Enjoying every day, what more could a family want... here's to "happy Days"!

Thanks Rachel. This layout brought back some happy memories for me. When I was at College every Friday night we (my group of friends) would meet in the local dairy, drink milkshakes and play the jukebox. See how daring I was even way back then! :-)

Thanks again to Kathleen & Linda at NZ Scrapbook for supporitng us this week. If you are in Auckland and haven't called in yet get over to their great BIG new store in Link Drive, Glenfield. I'm loving having this great big amazing space to meet up with others again to scrap.

I have used some pages out of the TV Guide to highlight which programs I am watching at the moment. I have added some 'notes' about why I watch them!

Hi. Trina Here. I've taken another approach to this dare and have talked about how I used to watch tv before kids and how having kids has affected my ability to see the telly now.

Journaling reads:

It used to be different. I could sit down and watch tv without dripping.

Then one day I couldn't.

At first I blamed it on the hormones but after I had my babies I realised it was more than that. The way I viewed things had changed. I came to understand how the things I saw on tv could happen to my children and it became more personal.

I still love tv, but in a different way. Somethings changed and there is nothing I can do about it except to go with it and smile through the tears.

This canvas is inspired by the tv programme Project Runway (my absolute favourite show) and is also a little bit like Project Runway in that I followed a collage blog challenge to make it and the contestants on PR have a challenge to follow every week. I wanted an OTP of some sort to hang in my scrap area to remind me that I should perservere when my layouts don't go quite according to plan. Tim's words on project runway are perfect for this, he is always saying "carry on" or "make it work" which is why I have included these phrases in my collage.

I love to watch Trinny and Susannah work their magic on What Not to Wear and recently some of their advice has been sinking in to this jeans and t-shirt girl!
