Dare no. 43

Hi everyone,

Long time no see! Sometimes life gets in the way and our hobbies are the first things to go. But when you have had a long enforced break like I have it makes you realise a couple of things. Like, how scrapbooking enables you to maintain perspective. When you are constantly recording and reviewing life's events, it helps you to remember all the good stuff, all the connections and all the stories. Which helps. So, it really should be the last thing you give up.

Anyway, I digess. My dare tonight is to take inspiration from the media, an ad in fact. As soon as I saw this ad, I saw several things in it that gave me inspiration. When I sat down to scrap it, I think I used all of them as it is a very literal interpretation of it. But the colours reminded me of all the new products that had just come in at work, and then I realised I should do a layout a bout a change in career path and the fact that I am really enoying working around beautiful things and being more creative after so many years in the law firms.

Post a link to your layout in the comments when you're done or send it via email to Lianne at RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz. The Deadline for this dare is Wednesday 23rd April 6pm.

This dare is proudly sponsored by the fabulous Scrapbook Store in Nelson http://thescrapbookstorenz.typepad.com/blog/

Here is the ad.

and here is my take on it...

And this gorgeous one from our guest designer Dallas Foley about the last day of kindy:

And this one from Donna, I just love this portrait of her daughter, what a character!

and also from Vicky about a day out with her son:

Sharon:

So, I hope you get at least one bit of inspiration from the ad, I am really looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
Sara-Jane

Hi Jo here, got mine done a little late to get in SJ's first posting but I have to say I loved doing this dare, having inspiration like that just makes everything so easy to put together. So here's my take on the ad...

Moniques:

Hi Rach here. Such a fantastic ad inspo to work with! I was really inspired by the frames + also I turned the ad 90 degrees!! Look forward to seeing how you all work this ad!!

Andrea's:
This ad is so great for using lots of photos from the same event. Thanks for the inspiration SJ!

And Lesley's

The song is one that the kids used to sing at school last year. Last week I went on a school trip to the local Refuse Transfer Station. I must admit it made me realise I could do more with regards to recycling and reducing rubbish. And so along with the wonderful ad inspiration this layout was born!

Great inspiration...and all of your layouts are interesting takes on the ad. Whenever *I* see a grouping of photos, I instantly think,"collage"...of course, MOST inspiration makes me think "collage"...I digress.

I've posted my LO on my blog:
